Raising chickens with herbs earns more than half a billion dong per year

On an area of 1 hectare, more than 3,000 broilers and breeders are raised in captivity and grazing in combination. On average, the cooperative sells 1,000 fish per month, after deducting all costs... Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thoan, director of the cooperative, "pockets" about 50 million VND.

With many years of experience in breeding, Ms. Thoan shared: "Using biological padding in breeding, helps chickens not suffer from respiratory diseases, raising environment without stench, ensuring health. for farmers as well as livestock. After each litter of chickens, the cushions are harvested, taken out and composted to become a source of organic fertilizer for green plants.

Specifically, the cost of lining with a thickness of 20cm per 100m² of ground area, which can raise 1,000 chickens is about 2.5 to 3 million VND.

Especially about ingredients for chicken feed, Ms. Thoan revealed: Ingredients include corn bran, rice bran, soybean, ginseng dong quai, turmeric... All are ground into powder, each type is separate. When incubating as food for chickens, it will begin to mix according to the ratio.

Ms. Thoan confided that thanks to the above unique food, the chickens are always healthy, with few diseases, and delicious meat quality.

Being the person who directly takes care of, monitors and creates a method of mixing herbs for chickens to eat. Ms. Thoan wishes to replicate the model for people across the provinces to have a supply of "clean chicken" to consumers.

According to Ms. Thoan, if the temperature is about 30ºC, the fermentation takes about 12 hours, in case the outdoor temperature is lower than 30ºC, it usually takes 20 to 24 hours. When the food is warm and has a slight sour smell, it can be brought out for livestock and poultry to eat. 

Thanks to this unique method, the chickens at the cooperative are beautiful, healthy, and have delicious meat quality. Normally, chickens are raised until the weight reaches 1-1.7kg, then sold to the market.

It is known that the cooperative currently sells nearly 10,000 chickens each year, not counting the number of chickens from the associated models. To ensure supply, Ms. Thoan regularly maintains 3,000 broiler chickens in the farm.

Catching a chicken with very beautiful feathers, Ms. Thoan said: "These chickens are raised in a clean environment, eat mixed herbs, so they ensure the health of consumers."

Ms. Thoan shared: "Egg products from chickens raised by this special method also have a way of knowing when they can use chopsticks to pick up the yolk directly without breaking it, unlike other eggs."

Before being delivered to consumers, the chicken has been preliminarily cleaned, packed, and vacuumed. On the package, there is full information about QR code, bar code… the listed price is 250,000 VND/kg.
