At that time, confectionary companies encountered many difficulties, obsolete machinery and capital, while the demand of customers increased. Joint venture with foreign partners is a suitable cooperation with Hai Ha at that time. With the initial capital of 4,000,000 USD, some modern production lines and advanced technology of Japan have been introduced in Vietnam with the concept of Marketing or another way that is the lesson. Although born in 1960, but before the time Kotobuki into the Joint Venture, the concept of marketing for domestic enterprises very new, no one can think that can bring hundreds of boxes of candy delivered to customers, The experience of a long-time foreign-owned company with a market mechanism has made it possible for Vietnamese representatives to recognize that hundreds of barrels of confectionery are not very small compared to what is obtained. In the market began dozens of new products, beautiful models, high quality, reasonable prices for the income of the Vietnamese. In the early years of the 21st century, along with the explosion of the confectionery market, Haihe - Kotobuki was in a difficult period due to intense competition from the market and the mechanism. Meanwhile, competitors have begun to adjust their business strategies, invest in new technology lines and launch superior products with Hai Ha - Kotobuki products such as: Kinh Do Cookies, Quang Ngai, Bibica, Trang An, Snack Oishi ..... have the majority of market share confectionery. After over 10 years of establishment of Hai Ha - Kotobuki turnover reached about 60 billion (2005), the brand and brand communication has not paid much attention.
In 2003, Hai Ha confectionery company was equitized. Vietnam's contribution to the Vietnam Tobacco Corporation (Vinataba) is managed. Recognizing that Hai Ha - Kotobuki is a confectionery brand that has a foothold in the market and has the potential to develop, with a multidisciplinary business development strategy, Vinataba has negotiated and Japan has agreed to transfer Deduction of 41% of capital in joint venture for Vietnam. In 2005, the People's Committee of Hanoi approved the transfer with the new capital contribution ratio of Vinataba (Vietnam) holding 70% and Kotobuki (Japan) holding 30%. This is really a revival step for Hai Ha - Kotobuki.
As a member of a large corporation, Hai Ha - Kotobuki has received strong support from top leaders. The Corporation has appointed a Vice President (Vinataba) with longtime experience in manufacturing as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hai Ha - Kotobuki. Along with measures to manage and restructure commodities, the promotion of brand communication in combination with social charity activities has created a worthy business result. By 2010, the turnover has increased nearly 3 times as compared to 2005, of which the following main categories are: candy: 264, 39%, Snack: 144, 51%, fresh cake: 257, 10%, moon cake: 336, 73%. Hai Ha -Kotobuki brand is well known, especially fresh cakes, moon cake.
With the above achievements, the company has received many certificates of merit from the leading agencies and professional associations, such as the certificate of merit of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010) on achievements. Completed the "GOLDEN FDI" award of the Ministry of Planning and Investment for foreign invested enterprises with achievements over the financial crisis in 2008, the award " "Golden Land of Vietnam" voted by the Young Business Association, Hai Ha - Kotobuki brand in the Top 200 Famous Vietnam Brand in 2009, Tin & Used (2010, 2011) by Vietnam Economic Times and people. However, the resources of the company include: production equipment, infrastructure does not meet development requirements. Recognizing the problem in 2009, the Board of Directors has issued a resolution on expansion of production to industrial zones and signed a contract extension Joint venture for another 30 years. This resolution is a legal basis for Hai Ha - Kotobuki development in the future.
According to the Decree 101/2006 / ND-CP dated September 21, 2006 of the Prime Minister, guiding the implementation of the Enterprise Law, the Investment Law of 2005 and on the basis of the proposal of the parties to contribute capital to the joint venture , on 9th February 2010, the People's Committee of Hanoi has approved the joint venture
