Using banned substances on animal, poultry farming will be fined up to 100 million dong.
Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has sent official requirements to provincial, central cities’ authorities to strengthen inspection and check on banned substances in livestock farming.
Accordingly, local authorities collaborate with environmental police to carry out sudden inspection on banned substances, mainly Sabultamol.
Besides, the responsible have to check samples of meat, liver and kidney. 100% pigs and beef cattle which will be sent to slaughter must be taken urine samples.
According to MARD, recently the use of banned substances in livestock farming is on upward trend, especially on Lunar New Year.
In this situation, MARD has drawn suggestions for amending and supplementing some articles in Decree No. 119/2013 on sanctioning administrative violations in veterinary, animal breed and animal feed sector.
Ministry recommended 15-20 million dong fine imposed for slaughtering, processing livestock which contain banned substances, increase the current fine by 5 million dong.
In addition, there is proposal to fine 80-100% of total violated livestock value for household farming and 100-200% of violated livestock value for industrial farming, but the maximum amount will not exceed 100 million dong.
