Agricultural cooperation between Vietnam and Japan has been developing over recent years; last November the export of Vietnamese mangoes to Japan was permitted and subsequently, Japanese apples were licensed to be exported to Vietnam. At the end of last year, 25 tons of Japanese apples bearing the Aomori brand were officially exported to Vietnam and sold in Aeon supermarket chains.
Hanoi- FPT Corporation and Fujitsu Limited today inaugurated Fujitsu - FPT Akisai Farm and Vegetable Factory to spotlight the FUJITSU Intelligent Society Solution "Akisai" Food and Agriculture Cloud. This factory is implementing two production facilities: greenhouse cultivation and vegetable factory cultivation for high value-added vegetables including medium-sized tomatoes and low-potassium leaf lettuce.
Bijnor: Several teams comprising agricultural scientists from Indonesia, Brazil, Vietnam and Nigeria have landed in Bijnor to study 'very good recovery rate' of sugar from sugarcane. Apart from visiting the fields and studying soil samples, they will also visit sugar mills of the region. According to OP Singh, district cane officer, "Representatives from four countries -- Brazil, Indonesia, Vietnam and Naigeria -- have come here to know the working condition of our factories and to talk to the farmers about the cultivation of sugarcane in these areas. The 19-member is divided into four parts. Teams from Brazil and Nigeria have four members each, while Indonesia had three and Vietnam eight members."
On 1st March, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Deputy Minister Vu Van Tam authorized by the Minister Cao Duc Phat awarded the medal "For the Cause of Agriculture and Rural Development" to Mr. Nguyen Trung Dung – Minister Counselor of Vietnam Embassy in Japan. Deputy Minister Vu Van Tam gave thanks and appreciated what Mr. Nguyen Trung Dung at Vietnam Embassy in Japan has contributed to agricultural sector, especially in efforts to expand agricultural diplomatic relations with Japan. Specifically, he supported, consulted and coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to participate in Food Security Conference in Niigata (Japan) which helped to improve the position of Vietnam agriculture in Japan as well as in other international organizations.
The member states of Asean have taken a major step forward in pledging to work across various government ministries to improve nutrition at national level. An Asean consultation convened jointly by the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Asean secretariat was announced last week. The consultation, involving Ministries of Agriculture, Health, Rural Development, Planning and Social Welfare, is focusing on food security and nutrition to address all forms of malnutrition.
Cultural aspects related to coffee-making and drinking, with emphasis on various distinctive tastes, are among the highlights of 'My Coffee My Identity' festival at Katara, the Cultural Village Foundation. Open to the public until Monday, from 10am to 10pm at Katara beach, the unique exhibition has been attracting a substantial turnout of visitors since it opened on Thursday. HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam and international partners have pledged to co-ordinate in combating health risks posed by diseases that are transmitted from animals to humans. The commitment was made yesterday at the inaugural meeting and signing ceremony of the One Health Partnership for Zoonoses (OHP). OHP was built upon the achievements of the Viet Nam Partnership on Avian and Human Influenza that was originally established in 2006.
Three groups of enterprises will be under pressure once the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) takes effect, according to lawyer Tran Huu Huynh, chair of the Vietnam Arbitration Center. While the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) is believed to bring great opportunities to develop the economy, it will also bring challenges. Upon the TPP, Vietnam will have to cut import tariffs and open the domestic market widely to imports from 11 TPP countries.
