Bac Giang lychee is qualified to export to all markets

Bac Giang Plant Protection and Cultivation Sub-Department said that lychee samples (mainly in the early ripening lychee granary in Tan Yen district) sent to Eurofins Sac Ky Hai Dang Co., Ltd. achieved all 821 balance indicators. quantity of pesticides. 

The Eurofins network has more than 900 facilities in more than 50 countries around the world. In Vietnam, this facility is an independent testing laboratory, with certifications and designations from state management agencies such as the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Products before being exported, mainly to the European market, need to be tested at Eurofins.

Le Ba Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that with the assurance of 821 indicators of pesticide residues, Bac Giang lychee is eligible for export and supply to all markets around the world.

Currently, Bac Giang Plantation - Plant Protection Department continues to take about 50 more lychee samples from the main litchi barn in Luc Ngan crop for analysis. Results are expected in the next few days.

According to Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade, the province's lychee is mainly exported to the Chinese market, with more than 95% market share. The rest is exported to countries such as Japan, the US, South Korea, the EU and Cambodia.

With the traditional Chinese market, every day, about 80 trucks carrying fresh lychee are cleared through the "green channel" through Tan Thanh border gate, Lang Son province. Dried lychee and processed agricultural products are exported through Kim Thanh border gate, Lao Cai province.

Mr. Tran Quang Tan, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade shared, after quarantine, lychees are gathered in a separate yard and have a separate road to facilitate the fastest export to China. Despite restricting trade to maintain the "Zero Covid" policy, the Chinese side committed not to let any lychee truck from Vietnam wait more than 3 days at the border gate.

In parallel with the promotion of lychee consumption, Bac Giang also strives to expand the planting area codes. Recently, the Plant Protection Department has granted 10 more planting area codes to the province.

In which, 5 lychee growers are exported to the Chinese market with a total area of 61.38 ha in communes: Giao Liem, Dai Son (Son Dong district); Hop Duc, Lien Son and Cao Thuong town (Tan Yen district).

A growing area code for export to the US market, with an area of 12.06 hectares in Phuong Son commune (Luc Ngan district); 4 export codes to Japan, with a total area of 47.54 ha in communes: Phuc Hoa (Tan Yen), Binh Son (Luc Nam) and Quy Son (Luc Ngan).

In total, Bac Giang has 149 growing area codes with a total area of more than 15,000 hectares exported to China; Japanese market has 34 stocks (more than 274 ha); US and EU markets have 19 codes (more than 230 ha) and 2 codes exported to Thailand (20 ha).
