From the beginning of 2022, Hai Phong Agricultural Extension Center implemented the model "Breeding of white-winged hybrid ducks with bio-safety , linking product consumption" in 2 households in Ngu Doan commune with unexpected results.

From the very beginning, the testing and implementation of the model at the grassroots level, from selecting sites, choosing households to organizing the distribution of supporting materials, and organizing training conferences, were carefully carried out. Technological advances from breeding, application of probiotics in feed, water and environmental treatment to product consumption linkages are made scientifically, in accordance with the needs of farmers.

In addition, the technical staff selected to provide technical guidance of the model has practical experience in building agricultural extension models, has good technical knowledge, has good skills and expertise, ensures respond to the technical instructions of the model... so the results achieved were really beyond expectations.

Dr. Vu Duc Hanh, who directly adheres to the facility and implements the project, said that Hai Phong Agricultural Extension Center supports farmers with 50% of the value of seeds, complete mixed feed, vaccines, veterinary drugs, and chemicals. disinfectants, training support, technology transfer to farmers.

The breed of white-winged gourd duck is obtained from Dai Xuyen commune, Phu Xuyen district, Hanoi, combined with bio-secure breeding, well controlled from the import of breeds so that the care, nurturing, disease prevention and treatment process is guaranteed. technical guarantee.

Initial results show that the survival rate to slaughter is high, reaching from 96 - 99%, 5 - 6% higher than conventional livestock, weight gain, feed consumption in accordance with technical standards. of the breed, the weight of 8-week-old ducks ranged from 2.45 - 2.6 kg/head, by the time of slaughter at 10 weeks of age, it reached 29 - 3.2 kg/head.

Feed consumption is low, the cost of veterinary drugs in the model is lower than that of conventional livestock from 3,000 - 5,000 VND/head and economic efficiency accounting in the model gives a profit of over 55 million VND/10 weeks of high farming. about 11 million dong more than non-model livestock, economic efficiency increased by 25%.

Mr. Mac Van Song, a representative of duck raising households, said that before participating in the model, most of the raising households followed their experience and traditional methods. breeding work.

After participating in the model, Mr. Song's family was trained and fully guided by the agricultural extension officer in detail about the technical process of livestock production, self-contained, using complete feed to ensure the quality of each stage of raising. .

In addition, they were instructed to periodically vaccinate, use probiotics to supplement food and as biological buffers, use probiotics, herbs to supplement food, and drink water to replace antibiotics. disease prevention and treatment, therefore, the cost of veterinary drugs is reduced, the use of antibiotics is limited, the weight gain is fast, the survival rate is high, and the feed consumption is low.

"Excluding the cost of seeds, feed, vaccines, veterinary drugs, antiseptic chemicals, electricity and water, depreciation of the barn, the model of 4,100 white-winged gourd ducks makes a profit of 55 million VND/10 weeks of rearing, which is higher. conventional farming is more than 29 million dong," said Mr. Song.

To implement the model, the participating households' cages need to be sure, with a minimum area of 120m2, the cage has a plastic floor, has a system to prevent heat, cool in summer, warm in winter. Households collect waste, clean and disinfect the barn, and leave the barn empty for at least 2 weeks before seeding. Organize clearing of bushes, open sewers to limit flies and mosquitoes that cause diseases to people and pets.

In particular, it is necessary to clean the grazing yard, the area of the garden, use a net to prevent wild birds from entering the cage, and arrange a food storage warehouse, a place to change labor protection, wash hands, close coincide. The playground is arranged with shade trees, in case there is no shade tree, a black net can be used to shade the ducks from the hot sun.

Maintain and replicate the model

According to the Hai Phong Agricultural Extension Center, due to the application of a safe and closed farming technique, the food quality is ensured at each stage of farming, the weight gain is fast, the survival rate is high, and the feed consumption is high. short.
