Japan supports organic fertilizer for fruit farmers

Dong Thap Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with Kume Organic Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (Japan) has just organized a program to donate organic fertilizers and transfer and apply science and technology to cooperatives and complexes. Mr. Le Quoc Dien, Deputy Director of Dong Thap Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said: Fertilizers are agricultural materials that play an important role and are used annually in large quantities in agricultural production in our country. Currently, the development of organic fertilizers is an inevitable direction of Vietnamese agriculture, both in the immediate and long term. Currently, the Government and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development are promoting the development and use of organic fertilizers for crops and livestock.

In recent years, all levels, branches and localities have had many solutions to develop organic fertilizers. In order to further strengthen the development and use of organic fertilizers, build clean agriculture, organic agriculture contributes to improving the quality of agricultural products and protecting the environment, the support of organic fertilizers for agricultural production is very important. application is necessary.

Dong Thap's organic agriculture development orientation from now to 2025 has high added value, is sustainable, eco-friendly, associated with the circular agricultural economy. Raise awareness of environmental protection, community health, improve income for producers, step by step better access to product consumption markets. Product value increase per unit area of organic production is 1.3 - 1.5 times higher than that of non-organic production. The development of organic agriculture aims to restructure the agricultural industry in the direction of increasing added value and sustainable development, promoting the potential strengths of organic agriculture in the locality.

The Green skin pomelo cooperative group in Doc Binh Kieu commune, Thap Muoi district (Dong Thap) is one of the units supported with 1.4 tons of organic fertilizer from Japan with a scale of 5ha to make a pilot model. 

Mr. Pham Van Khoai, Head of the Green-skinned Pomelo Cooperative Group, Doc Binh Kieu, said excitedly: In the context of rising prices of fertilizers and petrol, fruit farmers are facing many difficulties. Currently, the cooperative group has 5 hectares of green-skinned pomelo. In the past time, due to the use of chemical fertilizers, agricultural products are often sold at low prices, many pests attack, so the cost is high. Very happy this time, I and other farmers in the cooperative group were supported with Japanese organic fertilizer Kume to help farmers in the cooperative group improve the soil and replenish alluvium for the soil because they have been using it for a long time. many chemical fertilizers. If this model is successful, the whole cooperative group will switch to using 100% organic fertilizer.
