Peach purple breast has the appearance of a peach-like fruit. When the fruit is ripe, the purple color appears only about 15% of the fruit. When the fruit is split, it is white with purple color, very eye-catching, sweet taste, little latex.. .

We visited the peach blossom garden of the Hoa Xuan Agricultural Cooperative, Xuan Hoa Commune, Ke Sach District (Soc Trang Province). 

Mr. Nguyen Nhat Truong, Director of Hoa Xuan Agricultural Cooperative enthusiastically guided tour of the family's dairy garden and told about the origin of the purple peach custard apple tree: "In 1998, I bought Lo Ren milkweed to plant, accidentally bought it. get 5 seedlings of purple peach milk apple. After 3 years of growing fruit trees, the fruit has a beautiful appearance, is delicious, and has little latex. 

Realizing that the peach blossom apple fruit tree is quite good, in 2001 I decided to branch out from the original 5 trees of the apple tree to plant for the garden and the area of the peach purple apple orchard has gradually increased in the following years until now." .

In 2004, the area of Mr. Truong's purple peach orchard was increased to 7 and developed to the present time. Since the 6th year of fruiting, the yield of purple apple tree is superior to that of Lo Ren's apple tree, the fruit size is much larger, the tree is resistant to pests and diseases, so it costs very little to use pesticides.

Also according to Mr. Truong, purple apple tree has larger leaves than other varieties of milkweed, the leaf blade has many wavy folds, the underside of the leaves and flowers are dark yellow-brown, when old leaves turn a very characteristic red color. . 

The advantages of the peach purple apple variety are that it is well adapted to the local soil, requires little care, has good disease resistance, has a long tree life, and has a higher fruit yield than other types of milkweed when the fruit is stable. determined from 6 years old or more, weight 300 grams/fruit, moderate sweetness. 

At the same time, when ripe, the peach purple apple fruit still retains its firmness and firmness, which is convenient for harvesting, transporting, preserving and exporting… “With the family's 7 public garden (7,000m2) of the purple apple orchard, harvest more than 21 tons of fruit every year, minus the profit cost of more than 200 million dong" - Mr. Truong shared.

Peach purple breast milk, although it has been sold locally for many years, is not known by many people. Since the establishment of the cooperative, the "echo" of this fruit is more known and interested by export companies because the fruiting season is long, while other types of milkweed are out of season. Peach purple milkweed is still harvesting fruit for a few more months. 

This is a favorable condition for businesses to purchase and supply to the domestic market or for export, contributing to improving the value of purple peach milk apple.If before the time of association with the enterprise, the selling price of this type of breast milk to the outside market ranges from 5,000-25,000 VND/kg, but from the beginning of 2022, the cooperative signs an offtake contract with the enterprise, the breast price will Peach purple milk for export is stable at 30,000 VND/kg, while selling to the domestic market the price has also increased to around 25,000 VND/kg.

Due to the good profits from the peach purple milkweed, many local growers have increased the area to 10 hectares and mobilized people to join Hoa Xuan Agricultural Cooperative to produce in large quantities, meeting high market supply standards. supply and export, aiming to register for the granting of planting area codes and protect the local purple peach brand name.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phuoc, Head of Soc Trang Province's Sub-Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection, informed: "In Xuan Hoa commune, Ke Sach district, there are 3 dairy cooperatives with nearly 600 hectares, of which there are 2 more types. purple breast milk and purple peach milk breast. 

In order to support Hoa Xuan Agricultural Cooperative to develop the area of purple peach milk apple, the unit will coordinate with related industries to support the cooperative in trademark registration and new plant variety protection registration. Besides, propagating and renovating the area of growing breast milk, producing scattered fruits in order to facilitate association with companies and enterprises for consumption and export.
