Dak Nong applies technology to provide market information for agricultural products

Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee has just approved the project to upgrade information on agricultural product market in Dak Nong province with a total cost of nearly 15 billion VND.

The objective of the project is to apply technology to provide timely information on the production and market of agricultural products, effectively contributing to the project of restructuring the agricultural sector and international economic integration.

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Dak Nong province has assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to build information system foundation for agricultural product market, to upgrade the system, website and to organize the operation.

The project will focus on upgrading the computer equipment system and related platforms; oriented towards building the website as a platform for interaction between three parties (the state, producers - farmers and businesses), training manpower, and establishing a specialized human resource department to organize and operate…

The People's Committee of Dak Nong province has assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to build an agricultural product market information system to ensure connectivity and connection with previously invested information systems. 

The system must create a diverse platform for people and officials to provide and update information quickly and conveniently, on many different devices and platforms...

Dak Nong is currently the second largest province in the country in terms of size and output of two industrial crops including coffee and black pepper.

The province currently has more than 130.000 hectares of coffee with an output of more than 330.000 tons and nearly 35.000 hectares of pepper with an output of nearly 65,000 tons.

In addition, many types of fruit trees are also being developed in large scales such as durian, avocado, and many kinds of vegetables.

Over the course of time, many agricultural products of Dak Nong province often fall into the situation of “bumper season but low prices” especially with short-term crops, fruit trees, vegetables ...

The formation of a market information system on growing area size, output, season, and seasonal changes for each crop will help stakeholders become more proactive in orienting production and harvesting plans, as well as product consumption…/.
