Ms. Ngo Tuong Vy - Director of Chanh Thu Fruit Import Export Group Joint Stock Company, shared with Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper : We have just attended the Thaifex Anuga Asia 2022 specialized food and beverage fair, taking place. out from May 24 to 28 in Bangkok, Thailand. This is the leading trade event in Asia after 2 years of shutting down countries against the epidemic. And it is also the first time that an enterprise belonging to the Business Association of high-quality Vietnamese goods with the project "Vietnamese goods - Integration standards" has attended the fair since Thaifex 2019.
After attending this event, I noticed that there are 3 groups of customers interested in the Vietnamese fruit industry.
The first is the Asian customer group. Customers interested in Vietnamese fruit products come from countries such as India, Korea, Thailand... In fact, Vietnamese fruits have always been interested by foreign businesses and in fairs so far. This time, businesses from India are very interested in Vietnamese dragon fruit. This is a popular fruit in the Indian market. And especially, Vietnam is known as the place where the amount of dragon fruit is year-round and of high quality.
In addition to India, businesses from Thailand are also interested in dragon fruit from Vietnam.
For the Korean group, they are interested in fresh mango products. However, to be exported to Korea, fresh fruit products need hot steam technique, while in Vietnam there are only 2 units eligible for this technique. This leads to businesses wishing to export to Korea become passive. At the same time, there are not enough units to provide this service for companies exporting fruit to Korea.
The second is the European customer group. Most European customers look for suppliers of deeply processed fruits such as dried mangoes or fresh fruit products. However, for exported fresh fruit products, it is only possible to go by air. This leads to high costs, reduced competitiveness with other countries, and the export volume is not as high as expected.
The third is the American customer group. We have noticed that the majority of customers from the US are interested in frozen durian from Vietnam. After exchanging and recording, customers commented that Vietnamese frozen durians are priced competitively with Thai durians. In particular, Vietnam's Ri6 durian is popular with customers.
Through this fair, we will continue to work with potential customers and learn more about fruit demand. Thereby, orienting to develop deep-processed products to serve the increasing needs of customers.
The fair is also an opportunity for the image of the Vietnamese pavilion to international customers to be compared.
It can be seen that, compared with the booths of large countries with experience such as Korea, Japan, and Thailand, the design of our booth and space to introduce our products has not been appreciated. In terms of appearance, Vietnamese stalls are generally not attractive enough for customers to linger or pay attention.
The pavilions of different countries are designed in a methodical and professional manner, and the open space is attractive to visitors. Therefore, we realize that your country's stalls always attract a large number of participants and leave a strong impression on product presentation and packaging to customers.
After attending the fair, we realized that Thaifex 2022 is a great opportunity for Vietnamese businesses in particular and businesses from other countries in general to be able to bring many impressive products to customers. Thereby, creating favorable conditions for developing new customers. This is also an opportunity for businesses to learn more about the needs of the market and competitors. Especially, fruit producers have more information to come up with business strategies suitable to current conditions.
Suggest that the Government continue to create favorable conditions for businesses to participate in the fair and have the opportunity to promote the image of Vietnamese products to international friends.
However, in order to participate in the fair to be effective, we need the best support from the Government and learn how to set up the booth so that it is really professional to impress customers. . Because at present, Vietnamese stalls are still fragmented, lacking cohesion and connection to spread the image of Vietnamese products to the world.
