Investment cooperation relationship is deepening

On August 29, Long An Provincial People's Committee held a conference to connect trade between enterprises in the province and Korean enterprises. Mr. Nguyen Minh Lam, Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Director of Long An Department of Industry and Trade and Mr. Kwon Jea Haeng, Chairman of the Vietnam - Korea Economic Support Committee (KVECC), co-chaired the conference.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Director of Long An Department of Industry and Trade, said that over the past time, Long An has implemented many programs to develop cooperation relationships with Korean localities, organizations and enterprises in various fields, especially especially bilateral economic cooperation. Many delegations organized by Long An province visited, worked and promoted investment in provinces and cities of Korea. Long An has connected and cooperated with Korean localities such as Jeollabuk-do; signed thematic cooperation agreements and memorandum of understanding on socio-economic development cooperation with Chungcheongnam-do province.

Besides, FDI inflows from Korea into Long An province have continuously increased over the years. Existing Korean projects in Long An are also constantly expanding in project size and increasing investment capital.

Currently, Long An ranks 12th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide in terms of economic scale. The province has attracted 1,200 FDI enterprises with a total capital of nearly 10 billion USD and 13,000 operating enterprises. In which, Korean enterprises have 210 projects, ranked 2nd in number of projects and 3rd in total capital with nearly 900 million USD. Long An - Korea two-way trade reached 1.8 billion USD; in which Long An exported 950 million USD. The Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established in Long An with the name KOCHAM Long An.

Most recently, on August 26, 2022, Long An Department of Planning and Investment signed a memorandum of understanding with STS Development Joint Stock Company and MBC PLAYBE Joint Stock Company to promote investment and development of the modern multi-purpose complex and advanced project in Long An.

New opportunities for dragon fruit, lemon... of Long An

At the conference, representatives of enterprises of Long An province in the fields of agriculture, export, trade - services and Korean enterprises exchanged and shared information, conditions and needs of each other to find opportunities for investment association, long-term cooperation. Many Korean business leaders are excited by the information about Long An's output, dragon fruit and lemon growing areas.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Lam, Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that the conference is of great significance and is a premise to continue opening up many cooperation opportunities between Long An province and Korean enterprises in the coming time and is an important and practical activities towards the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea. This event creates cohesion, exchanges information on investment projects and signs specific cooperation, thereby promoting investment cooperation of Korean investors in the province.

The Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the province is determined to renew its thinking, change the working style and working style of the whole political system with the consistent view of "seeing the people as the object to be served, seeing Enterprises are the driving force and resource for the development process. The locality is very respectful, always ready to welcome and create all the most favorable conditions for investors in general and Korean investors in particular to cooperate in investment, stable development and mutual success in Long An. 

On this occasion, Long An Department of Industry and Trade signed a memorandum of understanding with Market Bright Company and the Vietnam-Korea Economic Support Committee to invest in a project to establish a center for goods circulation and distribution.
