The Ministry of Industry and Trade’s mission led by deputy minister Nguyen Cam Tu together with 73 trade counselors and Vietnamese ambassadors visited the super milk plant of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) in the southern province of Binh Duong on February 23, on occasion of their business trip to the Southern region.

HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam needs to create policies to promote investment in agriculture to build a farming sector to compete internationally, as the country integrates into the global economy. Investments in agriculture remain modest, although the sector involved nearly 70 per cent of the country's population, while contributing some 18-22 per cent of gross domestic product and 23-35 per cent of the value of all exports.

"The growth in production value of the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector (in recent months) has been slowed down due to various reasons, including decreased purchasing power caused by economic difficulties," Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan stated.

VIETNAM is integrating more rapidly than any other Asean member-countries, except Singapore, according to Vietnam’s Center Institute of Economic Management (CIEM). Võ Trí Thành, deputy director of the CIEM, also believes that the Vietnamese economy will enter a new thriving period, marked by participation in the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

On 11/1/2012, the Intellectual Property Department (Ministry of Science & Technology) gave a Certificate of exclusive brands for the Suoi Giang tea. In the morning of 16/02/2016 in Suoi Giang commune, Van Chan District, Yen Bai Province, Association for Natural Protection and Environment in collaboration with the Vietnam People's Committee of Van Chan district celebrated the announcement of the decision in which 400 Shan Tuyet trees (scientific name  is Camellia sinensis) that are located in 4 villages, namely  Giang A, Giang B, Pang Can and Ban Moi and lie on the altitude from 1.300 to 1.800m with the age of 300 are recognized as heritage tree of Vietnam.

The Prime Minister has agreed to exempt from land rent for rubber replanting in basic construction period from 2015 to 2020. Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Finance to guide local people the implementation of land rent exemption under the provisions mentioned above; Ministry of Finance and other relevant agencies implement together.

According to the Vietnam Pepper Association, it is real that Spain returned Vietnam pepper products but with a very small quantity. Spanish authorities have recently detected the quantity of carbendazim fungicide exceeded the limit allowed in the shipment of black pepper of a Vietnamese enterprise exported to Spain. In the afternoon of February 17^th, Vietnam Pepper Association has responded to this problem.

In 2016, the agricultural sector aims to achieve a GDP growth of 3 - 3.5%, a 3.5 - 4% increase in the annual production value, an turnover of  31 billion USD in exporting agricultural and forest products which is expected to reach around 39 - 40 billion USD in 2020. This information has been announced by Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, director of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, at the press conference organized in Hanoi on the results of work in 2015 and key tasks in 2016 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Companies that used banned substances in livestock farming with be fined 80 – 120% of total violated animal value. The maximum value is 100 million dong. Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has sent official requirements to provincial, central cities’ authorities to strengthen inspection and check on banned substances in livestock farming.
